sève

/sɛv/ • noun • French

  1. the vital fluid of a plant
  2. the invisible current

SÈVE is the same energy we find in jadeite — Fei Cui.

To us, the stone is not a relic. It is living translucency. Each piece is a silent conduit, crafted to ground its wearer, hold them steady, and travel with them through a life fully lived. Rooted in a lineage that began in 1976, certified natural, untreated Type A jadeite is the baseline - it tells you what a stone is not. Our curation tells you what it is. This is the heart of SÈVE: modern heirlooms that carry deep nostalgia, refined for today.

THIS IS JEWELLERY MADE NOT TO ANNOUNCE ITSELF BUT TO ENDURE: WORN DAILY, CARRIED FORWARD, PASSED ON.

A SÈVE piece is never simply something to possess — it is something to live with, and keep.

Twin Arc Drop Earrings featuring pavé diamond arcs and flat huaigu jadeite discs, highlighting elegant curves, set against a white background accented with a gold ribbon, front view.

The Twin Arc Drop Earrings

Two opposing pavé diamond arcs curve inward, each terminating in a flat huaigu jadeite disc centered with a single round diamond. Surmounted to a pavé-set hook, the structure balances architectural precision with a continuous, unbroken line. The arcs frame the discs without enclosing them, allowing the polished jadeite surfaces to read as distinct, planar elements. Designed as a mirrored pair.

The Marquise Cascade Necklace

Suspending to the front with a marquise-shaped jadeite cabochon of highly translucent emerald green, surrounded by pavé diamond. An oscillating, upside-down diamond-shaped jadeite cabochon of matching colour and translucency, surmounted by a square diamond anchors at the bottom of the pendant. The chain features six graduated marquise-shaped jadeite cabochons, matched in colour and translucency, alternating with rose-cut diamonds set at regular intervals along its length. A final rose-cut hexagon-shaped diamond is set at the centre of the necklace surmounting the pendant assembly.

The Cascading Drop Earrings

Six jadeite cabochons — two ovals and four marquises — are suspended within a fully pavé-set diamond frame. The hook and forward face of the structure are entirely pavé-set, reading as an unbroken column of light from hook to base with the metal invisible from the front. The form narrows at the top and opens gradually toward the base. Each cabochon is independently suspended to allow natural movement while the vertical line stays intact. Designed as a mirrored pair.

Natural Fei Cui — Type A

Type A jadeite has not been chemically treated. Its colour and internal structure are entirely as formed in the earth. Every SÈVE piece is certified Type A by HKJSL.

Certification is a baseline — it tells you what a stone is not. Our curation tells you what it is: assessed across five interlocking criteria that require trained eyes and uncompromising judgment.

種 · Type

Type refers to the density and uniformity of jadeite's internal crystal structure — the single most important factor in evaluating a piece. It determines depth, luminosity, and durability. It is what separates enduring brilliance from surface-level appeal that fades.
There is a saying in the trade: laymen look at colour, experts look at type.

水 · Translucency

Translucency is the trade term for the depth and quality of light transmission through jadeite. It describes the luminous quality that distinguishes genuine translucency from surface reflection alone. A piece with exceptional translucency appears to glow from within.

色 · Colour

正 · Purity — The hue is a true, pure green. No grey, blue, yellow, or brown cast.
濃 · Richness — The saturation is full and deep. Not so pale it reads as watery; not so dark it turns towards black.
陽 · Brightness — The colour is vivid and alive. Not dull, flat, or grey-tinged.
均 · Evenness — The colour is distributed consistently across the stone. Concentrated patches, uneven zones, or abrupt colour breaks reduce value regardless of colour quality.

底 · Base

Base refers to the cleanliness and fineness of the jadeite matrix — the parts of the stone beyond its colour. A strong base is clear, fine-grained, and free from cloudiness, heavy cotton formations, or distracting inclusions. It is what allows colour and water to express themselves fully.

工 · Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship at SÈVE operates at two levels: the stone and the setting.
Every piece is worked by master craftsmen with decades of experience — artisans whose work is characterised by clean lines, precise proportion, and an intuitive understanding of how to honour a stone's natural character rather than work against it.

SÈVE - Jadeite to wear, Legacy to keep.
